Profile: |
NIACRO works across Northern Ireland to reduce crime and its impact on people and communities. We support around 5,500 people annually – adults, families, children and young people in contact with the criminal justice system or at risk – across 27 services including advice, mentoring, early intervention, employability programmes, practical support, advocacy, representation and more. Our Corporate Plan guides our work across the following strategic delivery areas:
NIACRO contributes to reducing crime by providing bespoke, co-produced and trauma informed services focused on desistance. We work alongside those we support to help them to make the positive changes they want and to amplify their experiences.
NIACRO works with local communities and a range of partners and funders to help people affected by crime to achieve and sustain settled lives.
NIACRO delivers early interventions services to children, young people and their families and influences the development of diversionary approaches based on the principles of “justice reinvestment”, to reduce the number of young people coming into contact with the criminal justice system.
NIACRO play a pivotal role in highlighting the unique experiences of the people who use our services and addressing the personal, social and systemic barriers they face. |
