Are you a Public Sector official in Northern Ireland?  Join the Social Value Unit for a half day training sessions on implementing social value in supplies contracts in Northern Ireland.

  • Wednesday 4th February from 10am – 1pm

What is the session about?

Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 01/21 sets out how social value can be maximised throughout the procurement lifecycle, by specifying minimum sustainable standards, including conditions of participation and considering ways of reducing consumption and end-of-life requirements, for example.

This half-day online workshop will focus specifically on how to embed social value in supply contracts and support attendees to design, evaluate and manage public sector supply contracts to maximise opportunities for social value.

The workshop is designed to provide opportunities for attendees to apply their learnings and explore a range of social value scenarios and case studies.

What will I learn?

This session will:

  • Outline what sustainable procurement is and why it matters.
  • Explain what PPN 01/21: Social Value in Procurement requires us to do.
  • Set out how different sourcing methods and purchasing practices can contribute to sustainability goals.
  • Identify opportunities to embed sustainable requirements throughout the procurement life cycle, from pre-procurement through to contract management.
  • Describe how you include social value as part of the award criteria.
  • Outline how to evaluate and manage the delivery of social value requirements.
  • Signpost to further resources to support the implementation of social value.
