Speakers for Schools is a UK-wide charity that was founded in 2010 by ITV’s Political Editor Robert Peston, and supported by the Law Family Charitable Foundation, with a mission to level the playing field for young people. It aims to end educational inequality by giving access to the same networks and opportunities as the top fee-paying schools in the UK through inspirational talks and work experience. We engage with post primary schools and further education colleges which have students affected by area deprivation, disadvantage and lack of networks, and work with employers to create meaningful work experience opportunities which young people can participate in. Employer led work experience options available include:
• Discovery Workshops (shorter 1-2 hour taster sessions, with group bookings made by teachers)
• Insight Days (1/2 day or full day placements – individual student application)
• 3-5 day placements (individual student application).
All options can be delivered either virtually or in person.
