Profile: |
Patchwork People CIC is a community interest company dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of rural women through creativity, community and connection. We recognise that women in rural communities often face unique barriers including limited access to services, transport challenges and social stigma around mental health. Our work provides early access support by creating safe, welcoming spaces where women can come together, express themselves creatively and build supportive networks. We deliver group-based programmes in libraries and community venues, using holistic creative therapy techniques such as art, photography, sewing, knitting and mindfulness. These activities are not only accessible and engaging but also proven to reduce stress, increase self-confidence and strengthen community ties. Our approach is co-designed with participants and partner organisations to ensure that sessions reflect real needs and lived experiences. Patchwork People offers structured courses, drop-in Creative Wellbeing Cafés and one-off workshops. Each is designed to empower women to manage stress, explore identity and find joy in shared creativity. By weaving together personal growth with peer connection, our programmes reduce isolation and foster resilience. |
