From 1-2-1 parent carer support, group peer advocacy projects and research, parent carer and professional training, mentorship and coproduction programmes, our work brings people together, improves community wellness, reduces parent carer social isolation and exclusion, and empowers parent carers, public service providers and communities, through facilitated listening, citizen leadership and trusted relationship and partnership building.”
Parent Action NI is a ‘profit with purpose’, human rights and community benefit organisation which seeks to empower the parent carers of children, young people and adults with disabilities/ additional needs, to advocate effectively for all their family members needs, in their receipt of vital, local public services.
Founded by parent carers in 2014, and shaped by parent carers lived experience expertise, we bring authenticity, empathy, trust, respect and understanding to everything we do.
Parent Action Connects 1-2-1 and group peer advocacy work, supports trauma recovery, promotes emotional, financial and physical health and wellbeing, social connectedness and school and community inclusion.
