Profile:

One Equine Trust is a charitable organisation committed to delivering positive change in the provision of Equine Assisted Services for human health and well-being in Northern Ireland. Our aim is that everyone who could benefit from interaction with equines will have access to safe, regulated, and accredited services which can yield life-changing results including physical, emotional, social, behavioural, and educational improvements.
We have been supported by charitable and private sector funders who have recognised the benefits and potential of the services. From this support we created models for collaborative working to develop opportunities within the area of Equine Assisted Services, including conducting research to understand the impact, expanding current capacity, and helping to grow individual practices.
We connect individuals with safe and appropriate practitioners or services. We inform HSC Trust and healthcare staff of the services and suggest relevant and available options. We work with organisations and institutions to develop suitable programmes to increase the health, well-being, and quality of life of their beneficiaries. We create opportunities for practitioners, organisations, and those interested to network, further developing practice and capacity. To support our work connecting people, places, and practitioners, we seek out charitable funding and link potential funders to funding initiatives, progressing the provision of Equine Assisted Services in NI.
