Profile: |
Northern Ireland Blind Golf Association (NIBGA) is a registered charity. It was formed in 1990 to support the blind and visually impaired, a very disadvantaged community in Northern Ireland, through participation in the game of golf. Our mission is to provide support, training and access to health and social benefits for visually impaired and blind people in Northern Ireland. Based around golf, we organise sport, cultural and community events to promote health and wellness and inclusion for the visually impaired and blind community. Through our community events, we aim to reach out and develop an outlet for people of all ages in our community to gain confidence and independence. NIBGA are in need of individuals across the industry within NI who can volunteer as guides to those with visual impairment. We also require assistance from organisations who can support our inclusion events throughout the year which is open to attracting those with visual impairment into golf to assist with their mental health and well-being. The inclusion events to date have been very successful for attracting men, women and children who are new to the sport.
