Housing Rights is Northern Ireland’s leading independent provider of specialist housing advice. Our work seeks to ensure individuals and families living in Northern Ireland do not reach housing crisis. We provide advice and assistance to help alleviate homelessness. Housing Rights believes that no-one should be without We provide services for the public and professionals working in housing. We operate a housing helpline, a Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme, where our advisers help people going to court for repossession, a Landlord Advice helpline to help landlords understand their legal responsibilities and promote good practice in the private rented sector. We employ mediators who help resolve problems between landlords and tenants and have advisers working in prisons to support people with housing issues and advisers to support young people at risk of homelessness. Our policy work uses the experiences of the people we help in changing housing policy, practice, and legislation. We support Renters’ Voice, a group of private renters working to make renting better for everyone. We provide online housing advice and information, operate a Community Housing Advice Partnership to help advice agencies to offer housing advice in their local communities. We also offer training and run events for housing and advice professionals. |
