Profile:

Development Trusts NI (DTNI) is the regional network body for community development trusts, associations and social enterprise agencies in Northern Ireland (NI). DTNI is one of 4 UK regional networks and is represented as a board member on the European Federation of Settlements, a subsidiary of the International Federation of Settlements.

Our development support for our members and the wider voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE), includes a range of technical services including business and financial planning including preparation of business case to UK Green Book standard, and the provision of Quantity Surveyor, Architectural and Legal services. DTNI advocates and lobbies on behalf of the wider VCSE sector. We lead on the debate for the establishment of a Community Rights Act NI, including provisions for the rights of ownership (land and property assets), challenge and participation in the design and delivery of public services. We have successfully led and shaped the public discourse and policy emphasis on Community Wealth Building (CWB) and currently manage the North West Community Wealth Building Partnership and its programme on behalf of the Department for Economy (DfE).

As the delivery partner for the Department of Communities in advancing the interests of VCSEs in the acquisition, management and ownership of public land and property assets we are best placed to support and advance the sectors wider interests in property ownership.
