Profile: |
Colin Glen Trust is a charity and social enterprise. Our role is to protect and enhance 240 acres of crucial green space in Belfast as well as to provide leisure and recreational opportunities to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of the people who live in social deprivation. We run a number of facilities and activities which have been dubbed as world class and appeal to people from all over Ireland who utilise attractions such as Ireland’s longest zipline, Ireland’s only alpine coaster, Ireland’s first interactive golf driving range. We are not funded by any public sector body but continue to provide free access to Colin Glen Forest Park; Colin Glen Gruffalo Trail; Colin Glen Mindfulness Trail as well as miles of walking and cycling trails; access to rivers and lakes and the opportunity to be at one with nature in an intensive urban setting. We also provide employment, training, team building and personal development opportunities as well as diversionary activities for young people. We deliver environmental education as well as run a number of important community events in the forest park. |
