Carrickfergus YMCA operates a wide range of programmes and services including Youth Club provision for 9-18 year olds which is open 5 nights a week; a Youth Engagement Service which offers health and wellbeing services to 11-25 year olds including safe and supported social and recreational space, community outreach, education sessions on health-related issues such as drugs, alcohol, sexual health, as well as individual support, signposting and onward referral; Parents and Kids Together (PAKT) which is a community based developmental family support programme for 5-11 years and their parents/ carers; an Outreach team which delivers detached youth work to 11-25 year olds across Mid and East Antrim, schools work, mentoring, informal and diversionary group work; a Tackling Paramilitarism project which works with young people at high risk of being recruited to/ exploited by paramilitaries; an Independent Living project with provides supported housing to unaccompanied asylum seeking young people; and a Welcome Centre for asylum seekers and refugees living locally.
