Causeway Older Active Strategic Team (COAST) is a local charity supporting people aged 60+ across the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area. We are an interagency partnership working collaboratively to improve the health and wellbeing of older people and ensure their voices are heard.
Our current services include:
• Connected Age Project – Funded by TNL CF this project delivers one-to-one wellbeing visits to identify support needs and connect individuals to relevant services and groups to alleviate loneliness and isolation
• Social activities – Events held throughout the year highlighting supports and opportunities available to older residents.
• Group support – Assistance to local older people’s groups through funding guidance, organisational advice and signposting.
• Talks – Delivery of safety and scam awareness sessions to community groups.
• Networking events – Bringing together organisations and older residents to share learning and improve service responses.
• Forums – Providing opportunities to discuss issues affecting older people and contribute to consultations and advocacy.
• Handyperson/Gardening service – Delivery of low-level home and gardening maintenance task to keep older residents safe in their own homes. Provide and install of keysafes and Grabrails
• Safe Home service (Funded by PCSP) – support people who have experienced crime or or fear becoming victims, including home security assessments and installation of safety equipment
