Delivering Social Value employment opportunities

As part of the Social Value award criteria for a Government build project at Waterside, Henry Brothers were committed to delivering job opportunities to people who were long-term unemployed or who had left education or training in the previous year.

One of the people who benefitted from a job opportunity was Victoria who had recently left education. Victoria was employed as a Group HR Administrator by the company and  has since gained permanent employment as part of the HR and Social Value team.

Henry Brothers facilitated time out of the office to allow Victoria to continue to study part-time and attend lectures. Victoria went on to play a key role in the delivery of a wide range of Social Value initiatives by the company, such as Health & Wellbeing; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; and Community & Education Engagement.

Victoria says:

“The Social Value employment opportunity I have been afforded through Henry Brothers Waterside Project has provided me with a privileged position to support the delivery of Social Value initiatives for our workforce and the local community far beyond contracted KPI requirements, supporting wider Company CSR Strategy and KPIs. This employment opportunity has also significantly enhanced my continued learning and career development as an HR professional.”
