Including a Social Enterprise in the Supply Chain

As part of the Social Value commitments on DAERA’s Graphic Design, Print and Website contract, The Foundation built on its long-standing relationship with Orchardville Works. This is a Social Enterprise within Orchardville, a charity which supports adults with learning disability or autism to live, learn and work across Northern Ireland.

Orchardville Works has been fulfilling orders for The Foundation, such as collating and inserting items into folders, packing items for transit, or providing hand assembly services. For the DAERA’s Graphic Design, Print and Website contract, Orchardville Works fulfilled an order to insert multiple items into envelopes and sealed the envelopes ready for posting.

Paris McDonagh, Orchardville’s Director of Social Enterprises, said:

“DAERA’s graphic Design, Print and Website contract adds immense value to the work being completed at Orchardville Works. Our adults with a learning disability or autism thrive in our employment environment, learning essential skills, and delivering meaningful and impactful contracts. We take great pride in our services and appreciate our partnership with The Foundation.”

Barry Browne, The Foundation’s Procurement Manager said:

“We have used Orchardville Works for many years and have found their communication and ability to meet deadlines second to none. They are a great organisation to work with and I look forward to continuing to grow the business we place with them in the coming years.”
